At the invitation of Vir.Mueller Architects, we were selected as partners to develop the wayfinding design for the ALOX Masterbatches headquarters, a global leader in the plastic compounds industry, located in New Delhi, India. The goal of the signage system was to enhance the building’s corporate architecture, reinforcing its strong identity and character. The strategy was designed to transform the perception of the environment by assertively reflecting the company’s values, ensuring a seamless and intuitive navigation experience for both employees and visitors.
The building’s architecture, featuring a predominant use of concrete, glass, and vegetation, required a careful, thoughtful approach to color. While ALOK’s visual identity is vibrant and striking, the physical space follows a neutral and minimalist aesthetic. The challenge was to incorporate spatial communication in a subtle yet effective way, establishing a direct connection with the brand without overpowering the existing architecture.
To achieve this, we developed an exclusive acrylic signage system, applying color in a subtle manner to create visual codes that guide users through the various floors. The selected color palette, featuring shades of gray and white, was carefully chosen to establish subtle contrasts that help define spaces and guide individuals in a natural, intuitive manner, all while maintaining harmony with the environment.
