The Sicredi Cooperative Bank headquarters in Southern Brazil contracted /STUDIOMDA to help design its new memorial and library space. We made this repository of the institution’s history inviting through the use of furniture and old objects together with historical texts, images, graphics and interactive features.
The library is designed for both daily use and for events and lectures. The central panel integrates physically and chromatically with the carpet, and delimits the presentations space.
The memorial space illustrates the cooperative’s history with interactive displays of both digital and antique elements. Echoing the library, the memorial also has a central panel that presents the organization’s timeline with an interactive touch screen. The design motivates visitors to explore the space in which its objects are arranged in vitrines that activate the display but also allow free movement. Arranged symmetrically in the room, these vitrines are visually complemented with suspended backlit cubes with photos and texts describing the regional history of Sicredi.
